Thought I’d see if my newspaper skills translate into the blogosphere. That and I need to jump start my online presence for the biweekly pub quiz I host at the Black Swan English Pub in my hometown of Sanford, Fla. So expect a mix of eclectic trivial tidbits that will be featured in the pub quiz, as well as my skewed view of the world and a few personal rants from time to time.

Speaking of rants, the Bucs are desperately trying their best to lose a third straight game. Garcia just threw a pick-6 and the Chargers are up 41-24 in the fourth quarter. So long playoffs.

At least the local high school team came away with a win last night. Seminole High School beat two-time defending state champion Miami Northwestern 28-21 in the 6A finals Saturday night at the Citrus Bowl. Remember these three names: Andre Debose, Aravious “Ray Ray” Armstrong and Dyron Dye. All three will play D-1 college ball next year.

Found an interesting video story in the NYTimes this morning about double dutching.

Here’s another one about “Atomic Tourists” in New York City. Growing up in Oak Ridge, Tenn., provides you with a unique prospective on the Manhattan Project. I always find stories about the MP interesting.

Today’s playlist includes:

“Early in the Morning” – The Gap Band
“Shut Up and Kiss Me” – Mary Chapin Carpenter
“Should I Stay or Should I Go” – The Clash
“Snow” – Red Hot Chili Peppers
“You Turn the Screws” – Cake

This first post is definitely a brain dump. Waddaya expect – it’s Sunday afternoon.
